OSA 147th Annual Open Juried Art Exhibition

CALL FOR ENTRIES - OPEN TO CANADIAN ARTISTS

 

The Ontario Society of Artists (OSA) welcomes Canadian artists to apply to participate in our 147th Annual Open Juried Exhibition of Fine Arts which will be a 2 month online Exhibition this year beginning November 1st, 2020.

Juried Artists will be invited to gather in a virtual online opening.

 

The Ontario Society of Artists is committed to helping the art community and have taken steps during these challenging times with a lower submission fee, and greater chance of participation.

 

IMPORTANT DATES

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: Tuesday, Sept 1, 2020

Entry Fee is $15 

One submission per artist

The number of entries will be capped at 400

80 pieces will be selected by the jurors, so you have a one in five chance of getting your artwork accepted into the Exhibition
Notification date of the Jury results: October 31st.

 

Please ensure you carefully review our Terms of Entry before you complete and pay for your submission.

 

PRIZES

$1,000 - Award recipient chosen by an OSA Life Member

$250 Awards for Excellence will be awarded to four artists
20 Juried artists will given the opportunity to do a social media takeover

 

Judging

Entries will be juried online. 

NOTE: Images must be of a professional standard. We reserve the right to reject images that do not meet the standard. Submission fee will not be refunded.

 

Jurors

We are honoured to have 3 renowned artists as jurors:
John Bingham, Photographer; Ron Bolt RCA, Painter; Cathy Groulx OSA, Painter.

 

Eligibility

The competition is open to all professional artists in Canada. Artists may submit work in any two or three-dimensional media, with a limit of one artwork submitted. Artwork previously exhibited in other OSA juried shows are not eligible. Work must have been completed after January 1, 2018.

 

Presentation and Qualification

All works MUST be original art. Entries must not be copies or derivatives.

 

Sales

A sales commission of 20% will be charged to OSA members.

A 30% commission will be charged to all non-members. Works which are not for sale must be marked NFS in the entry with value stated for insurance purposes.

 

Acceptances

Acceptances will be sent by e-mail. NO RESULTS WILL BE GIVEN BY PHONE. Work selected for the exhibition must be as submitted for jurying, or it will be disqualified.

 

Terms & Conditions

The decision of the jury is final. 
Juried artists agree to share at least 1 post on their social media platform including a link to the online exhibition.
By submitting to this exhibition, you agree to allow reproduction of your digital files for educational, publicity and archival purposes, unless we are informed otherwise in writing. You also give us permission to communicate with you via e-mail about this and future events.
We are not charging or paying exhibition fees. 
If work is sold after the end of the show, we are using the honour system and expect the artisit to ask the buyer and honour the commission if they know it was sold as a result of the show.
